6. You have the right to love and understanding, preferably from parents and family, but from the government where these cannot help.

Every child has the right to live with their family and be loved by that family.  Even if the family is poor, the child should stay with the family and not have to go and work somewhere else just so they can make money.  Families can sometimes argue which is normal, but if a parent or a family is not providing love and care for their child, then every child has the right to special protection from the government.  This is usually done by social services - in Toronto, Children's Aid will help with families that are not providing love and care for their children.
